SO ... yesterday we woke up to this!
The day before - our first official day of work at the Fishing Bridge General Store - turned out to be exciting. We were scheduled to start at noon and when we arrived there was no electricity (not uncommon, I guess). After about 30 minutes, the fire alarm starting going off and everyone was ushered outside. All employees ended up standing in a field behind the store (see photo below) while we waited for the National Park Service and Fire Department to arrive.
After about 30 minutes it began snowing so they moved us into the employee dining room and fed us lunch. Shortly after, they announced that the sprinklers were leaking, they were closing the store and we could go home!
We were actually just fine with that as it gave us an opportunity to catch up on laundry, set up our site and make a delicious dinner!
The next day we made it through our first full day of work. Bob is a stocker in the grocery area and I am a stocker in retail. Some of you have asked for details of what our work entails and want to see photos of the inside of the store. So, I'll do that in a future post.

Here's what the front of our store looks like and the second photo I took yesterday through the window from my work station. A buffalo was walking down the middle of the road in front of the store causing a traffic jam.
Today was our day off and we enjoyed sleeping in and taking in some sites near us.
Amazing pictures and great stories of your adventures. Definitely living the dream out there!
