We had a beautiful sunny day for our drive out the Northeast entrance of the park into Montana, through Chief Joseph Pass to Cody, Wyoming and back in through the East entrance. We saw lots of wildlife (bison, bear, fox, antelope, elk, deer and a black wolf), but none was as cool and up close as the following video. (If clicking on this picture doesn't play the video - here's a direct link -  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPpH-VvpP7w) This felt VERY close - Bob could have reached out his arm and touched him. They are such massive animals! This little fox walked along the side of the road right next to the window of our truck - no zoom needed. Our drive went over several passes and the views were just incredible!       We have seen SO much beauty and such amazing animals. We have two more days of work and then we will be heading South.  Yellowstone has been a fantastic experience - no regrets! We will miss this view -- we saw it daily on our drive over Fishing ...

The employee RV park where we live is one mile from our store and we have frequent visitors. Yesterday morning while making breakfast, these 3 young elk came to say hello. I took these looking through my kitchen window.  Fortunately, we haven't seen bear in the campground, but we do have this warning on the laundry room door and we have heard the early morning gun shots nearby (used to scare away bears). And we spotted this little guy on our drive home - about a half mile from our RV park. Some of you have asked about our living space, so here's a little tour: Our camp spot Our bedroom    Our kitchen and bathroom/shower And our dining room. It only feels small when it's snowing, raining or cold --- which has been most days we've lived here. HA!       Work ... has been hard! After having spent 8 hours on our feet, carrying loads and climbing stairs (often 50+ flights a day), we both are exhausted and in pain (Bob's back - my ankle). So, as a resul...

We spent our last two days off exploring the park, doing errands (laundry & cleaning) and relaxing. The weather was lovely - sunny and 60 degrees - and we saw SO much beauty! Here's just a glimpse: Yellowstone River The variety of scenery as you drive North from here is just stunning! First you drive along this raging river, then beautiful green meadows with snow covered peaks in the background, next crazy boiling mud pots and geysers, to lush forests and huge canyons with waterfalls. It feels like the scenery changes around every bend in the road.  While on our drive we saw lots of bison, a few elk, a mountain goat and a number of bears - including a grizzly that ran across the road in front of us. The ever present bison crosswalk slow down A momma and her cub    Stopped for lunch and a beer in Gardner, Montana We spent our second afternoon off parked down the road (15 minutes from our campground) along the shore of Lake Yellowstone relaxing - it was amazing! The boo...

We finally had a couple days off and we are feeling renewed and refreshed!   We spent the last two days absorbing the incredible beauty around us! This photo was taken yesterday just about 10 minutes from our campsite on our way to Cody, WY. This guy was just chillin' on the side of the road waiting to give me some foreground photo perspective to the glasslike reflective lake we were driving past.  It takes almost two hours to drive from our spot here to Cody and it has to be one of the most gorgeous drives we've taken! Here are just a few pics from our drive. Sorry for the photo dump - even though the photos don't really do it justice ---- we were awed by the variety and the beauty around every curve!   Cody, WY is a fun little town -- we enjoyed restaurants, Walmart and the Sierra outlet store  (which nearly ate up my whole check! :) Today we drove down to the Old Faithful area (about an hour) and I had fun reconnecting with a friend from high school, Tom Mann. We ...
